leave it to me to be clearing out my old cd collection.
lo and behold, i find a cd from 1994: elastica's cd (uk).. man, i don't know what the hell they're up to, but man i loved this chick-lead band.. of course, their hit: connection .
....still makes my nipples hard when i hear it.
Hi Rayzor...
In 1996 I saw Elastica at a small venue that holds maybe 200 people supported by a band called the Delgados and it was immense. I was right up at the front, staring at Donna's legs which looked great in tan tights with a black figure hugging dress on purrrrrr. Sheila was their new bass player at the time. After the gig one of my mates got a towel that one of the girls used to wipe the sweat off her face. I ended up in a tug - of - war over another one & lost, but I did get a set - list from the stage which was quite cool. Later on we waited at the back & when they appeared we got the stuff we'd blagged signed, I got Donna & Sheila ( but saw Justine come out a few moments later & just watched her walk away - I still kick myself! ) to sign me set - list. Donna signed it on my back which I remember felt unusually pleasant, tho I wasn't aware at the time that she ( I think ) prefers girls to boys. I felt so embarrased coz I'd never done this before, waiting for autog's, but after it we all could've leapt all the way home. I think the car broke the speed limit all the way home with the excitement. Another one of my mates got kisses & stuff as well - wish I'd done that too. Oh well, too quiet for me own good sometimes. But a cool wee memory of a fun night out nonetheless.
Take care...

i hate mondays!.
i also feel bad because i have been receiving subtle hints from my hubby that he may be leaving me.
we have been married for 24 years, have 4 beautiful, intelligent children (one is no longer with us), we have been though troubles, worries, the death of our darling claire, money problems - you name it - we've been there.. now - because i have different religious views to him, he doesn't think he can associate himself with me any longer.
Thinking about you during this hard time, pet. It all just sounds so bad. I remember a few persons at the KH who lived their lives with someone who didn't believe or who had left, so it never was mandatory to split as I remember. I liked Francoise's advice. Militancy would likely provide extra excuses to leave but a mildness & conciliation together with appealing to someone's feelings somehow may help to bring the result you wish. Such an attitude might leave a deep mental impression on kids too, I feel, which they could well remember later.
Well, I'm no expert counsellor so I'll stop there, wish you all the best & everything & hope it all comes right for you. When I read this story, together with the letter from Mulan's niece, I wonder sometimes what happened to empathy, shared emotions thru years of memories, & maybe even just having a deep feeling for another person.
Take care, lots of love & everything........

predictions for the new football season: .
1. who will win the premiership?
2. who will be top goal scorer?
Someone in here thinks that carry - on where they chuck a pointy ball up in the air & then indulge in a mass wrestling match whilst being dressed up to take on the Division Das Reich is a sport!

Somewhere between Little Toe & Blackcat, Ballistic! Remember what that dentist guy kept on asking Dustin Hoffman? When you do, if you see this, tell me what you think. Winston Smith said 'Mind the Telescreens'. Should I?

... when you couldn't get your family out of your mind?
when you kept thinking about how horrible they all are because they loved some pipe dream god more than their real flesh and blood?
when you wonder if you will ever see them again before they die?
Lots, Swan, all the time. Not for all those reasons, coz my family still love me, & I get reminded of that now & then. But over some of the other stuff... yeah. Like a dark curtain just drops on you, and nothin seems to matter or mean anything.
But you take care Swannie. It's obvious you've got deep feelings about things, & that usually makes for a good wee person. So anyway that's all I can do is say something cheery for you, & let you know I woz thinking about you when I read your wee post, as I'm sure evryone else will who sees it too.
Lotsa Luv an evrythin'....

i wonder what percentage of jehovah's witnesses actually practise the shunning policy personally?
i've been df'd since 1972. since then i have encountered numerous jw's, either by chance encounter in the street or in social situations such as pubs and restaurants.
i've come across several in work situations also.
Even when I had my hair up like Robert Smith & looked as though I could've joined the Cramps or the Banshees, my Mum always found nice things to say about my appearance. It felt slightly wierd & cool at the same time, probably coz she really should've been 'encouraging' me the opposite way, considering. I look a bit more 'normal' now but sometimes still get ignored as though I wasn't noticed, which is a sort of shunning, I suppose. I agree it seems to depend on where you stay & the personality of the person. Recently I met a pal from the KH in a supermarket. She & her man still attend, but her own words were - concerning KH association - "We've got nobody there now" . So-&-so's moved away or inactive, her man's bro' df'd etc. So sometimes the difference between attending the meetings & being ignored is not that great. I don't always get ignored though so it's a mixed bag where I am, even tho I'm not df'd or anything. That 'shunning report ' idea just cracked me right up btw.

Winmx is one I've used now & then. Used to use Morpheus also but the last version I downloaded installed spyware of a sort that had to be removed in a very specific way or I think it could re-activate, so best not use that one for now.
Have fun...
